Letters Fasika Has Sent Us
Fasika joined us in April 2021 alongside Werkinesh. We get the sense they may be friends, they both love Mango! Like Mekides, she also enjoys rope jumping. And like Werkinesh, fetching water is one of her chores. Most of the children want to be doctors or teachers. Fasika wants to be a farmer. We hope she grows lots of Mangos!
We don't know the date of her first letter, but we didn't receive it until December 2021. This long delay is caused by the route these letters have to take and the impact of ongoing civil war in the region. Letters go by air, truck, bicycle, camel and foot to get to and from these rural villages.
