Letters Mekides Has Sent Us
Mekides has been with us for over a year now. Seeing her grow and that incredible smile she has gives us so much hope and assurance that we really are making a difference. Her first letter to us was written on May 18, 2021 but we didn't receive it until December 2021. This long delay is caused by the route these letters have to take and the impact of ongoing civil war in the region. Letters go by air, truck, bicycle, camel and foot to get to and from these rural villages.
We see what is likely to be a home, maybe some of the tools she uses and what looks like a foot ball. From what we gather, foot ball is a popular game with the kids.
